The New Ford 2012 f150 FX4
The new Ford F150 for 2012 has only a few slight modifications from the 2011 model. It will have more upgraded technology features along with an improved powertrain.
Midyear in 2011 the Ford F150 FX4 received new engines and a standard six speed automatic transmission. So you won't really see any major redesign more in line with a few tweaks here and there.
F150 FX4 New Look
The look for the Ford 2012 F150 FX4 will still have that square muscular look which is perfect for this off road vehicle. The base price for this particular model is expected to start at around $37,000 US. It will have a fuel consumption of 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 on the highway.
Some of the exterior features include a painted body color front and rear step bumper with body color upper fascia. The grille is the same color as the body and is surrounded with a gray billet style insert. All handles on the doors and tailgate match the body color. The tailgate is removable and comes with a key lock.
Cargo Box
The cargo box comes standard with four tie down hooks. Standard mirrors on this model include power side mirrors with an integrated spotter mirror on the driver's side. The skull caps on the side mirrors are the same color as the body.
Clear lens quad beam halogen headlamps come standard with the F150 FX4. The headlamps have an automatic on-off feature. Fog lamps are also included as a standard feature.
Tow hooks and skid plates are standard on the 4x4 model. The rear box is a standard six and a half feet. But a five and half foot model is available as an option. The Super Cab is the standard model again an optional choice would be the Super Crew Cab.
Fuel Tank
The fuel tank on the Ford F150 FX4 is 26 gallons with the option of upgrading to a 36 gallon tank.
For windows and glass in the 2012 F150 the standards are first row power windows, with a one touch down driver side window. The second row also has power windows. For the 2012 model the rear window now comes with a fixed privacy tint glass and defroster. Available options are a power sliding rear window with defrost and a power moonroof.
The Interior
The interior of the FX4 comes with standard manual air condition with an option of having dual zone automatic temperature control if you wish. All the gauges are easy to read and provide the driver with lots of information. A compass is included in the standard package for the F150 FX4.
Other standard features include cruise control, a manual telescoping steering wheel which also tilts. The steering wheel in the 2012 F150 FX4 is wrapped in black leather.
As you can see, the new Ford 2012 model has some definite improvements and lots of standard features. Some of which in other models would be an additional upgrade cost.
As usual Ford provides their customers with tons of value for their money. You really can't go wrong purchasing any Ford truck.
